Lexington NC Artist Donates Prints To NASCAR Drivers

Lexington, NC (May 18, 2008) - Lexington artist Dennis Lanier, known for his NASCAR related illustrations, has donated prints from his latest limited edition release titled "For The Fallen" to several drivers on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit. The drivers will carry special "Salute the Troops" paint schemes and/or markings during the Coca Cola 600 race for the always thrilling Memorial Day Weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway. The scheduled participating drivers include Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Casey Mears, Jimmie Johnson, Clint Bowyer, Mark Martin & Jon Wood. Each driver received a signed and numbered print corresponding with their car number.
The "Salute the Troops" program celebrates the history and tradition of America's armed forces and pays tribute to the heroes who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for protecting our freedom. The pre-race show will include a military demonstration for the fans followed by a concert for the troops. It's one of the most prestigious events in motorsports. Several businesses and corporate sponsors will also be working to raise money and awareness for men and women in the armed forces.
About the artist
Dennis Lanier is in his eighth year as a professional illustrator creating his art with markers and pencil. He has produced numerous limited edition prints from rural scenery to NASCAR. In 2006, NASCAR driver Brian Vickers commissioned Dennis for an exclusive team and sponsor only limited edition print and, in 2007, was commissioned by Ginn Racing to produce a print for Mark Martin.
